Netflix show ‘Florida Man’ to film at Quanto Basta, Hell’s Kitchen and other businesses

WILMINGTON –– A Netflix show in town is making plans to film at several local businesses.

“Florida Man” has received some of its first film permits from the City of Wilmington over the past week. The production has made arrangements to shoot restaurant scenes at Quanto Basta and Hell’s Kitchen, a coffee trip to Java Dog and a diner scene at White Front Breakfast House.

The production is also filming at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, All Ways Graphics, Wave Transit Forden Station, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Stevens Ace Hardware, Unifirst and on the Cape Fear Community College campus this month.

In “Florida Man,” Edgar Ramirez plays a former cop who must travel from Philadelphia to the sunshine state for a presumably quick gig: hunt down a mobster’s fugitive girlfriend. However, the job turns into a spiraling journey into “buried family secrets and an increasingly futile attempt to do the right thing in a place where so much is wrong,” Deadline reported.
