Two arrested during seatbelt stop for carrying concealed weapon, firearm by felon

WILMINGTON –– Wilmington police arrested two men Friday after finding a Glock handgun in their car during a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation.

Colin Smith, 26, of Greensboro, and Pedro Duran Quintero, 21, of Wilmington were arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and firearm by a felon.

Officers pulled the car over around 4:37 p.m and said they developed “reasonable suspicion” a weapon was present in the vehicle. The gun was uncovered in the glove box.

Both men received $30,000 unsecured bonds.
