Man arrested for attempted first-degree murder, police search for additional suspects

WILMINGTON — According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department, detectives arrested Jonathan Keshawn White for attempted first-degree murder early Monday morning.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a call regarding shots fired at 1565 Sandlapper Way, near Woodbridge Pointe Apartments. Upon arrival, they found a 29-year-old man laying in the grass with at least five gunshot wounds.

After gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, detectives released an arrest warrant for White, whom they located at 22 Cypress Grove Dr.
