Public health hosts three walk-up vaccine clinics in coming week

WILMINGTON — New Hanover County Public Health announced three walk-up vaccine clinics will be offered in the coming week, including a weekend clinic taking place at the health and human services building (1650 Greenfield St.).

On Saturday, May 1, individuals 18 and older can drop in the clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to receive their first Moderna shot. It will operate as a walk-up or drive-thru site. The clinic is being hosted as part of the NC Medicaid Health Plan & Community Resource Fair.

On Monday, May 3, and Wednesday, May 5, again at the health and human services building, the Pfizer two-shot (approved for 16 and older) and Johnson & Johnson (approved for 18 and older) one-shot will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Independence Mall (3500 Oleander Dr.) clinic also will be open from noon to 7 p.m. and will offer Pfzier and J&J vaccines. Individuals will need to enter the mall clinic by entering Belk, facing Independence Boulevard; the clinic is located between Bath and Body Works and Rack Room Shoes.

Folks who have yet to receive their second dose and do not have an appointment can also visit the walk-up clinic to get dosed. Just bring the vaccination card to complete. Anyone who received the first dose out of state, must have proof of their first dose through another state’s vaccine card or documentation from the entity that administered the vaccine.
