NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Folks looking to collect more travel miles in 2021 will be able to do so with direct flights offered from Wilmington International Airport (ILM) to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) this summer.
Annually, seasonal flights are added to the airport’s schedule to help serve passengers during peak travel times. Last week American Airlines and JetBlue announced a partnership to bring direct flights from ILM to Boston Logan Airport (BOS).
Today the world’s largest airline announced nonstop service to ORD from ILM, May 6 through October 6, 2021. Flights are scheduled for 9:16 a.m. and 12:51 p.m. There also will be added flights on Saturdays only, June through August, scheduled for 11:45 a.m. and 2:25 p.m.
All flight schedules are subject to change, according to airport officials.
“We are excited and thankful that American is reinstating this nonstop service,” Julie Wilsey, airport director, stated. “With enhanced safety measures, implemented by ILM airport as well as our travel partners, ILM’s passengers can feel safe flying. We look forward to a strong Summer schedule with nonstop destinations.”
All flight options can be found on American Airlines’ website.
