1,300 gallons of untreated water discharges into tributary

BRUNSWICK COUNTY—Around 3:36 p.m. the North Carolina Division of Water Quality announced the discharge of around 1,300 gallons of untreated wastewater, according to a press release from Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer H2GO.

The discharge happened after a contractor hit a Stoney Creek force main along highway 17. The untreated water flowed into a tributary that opens to Goodland Branch.
