Town Creek third graders move to remote learning, 9 Covid-19 cases confirmed

BRUNSWICK COUNTY – To control a spread of Covid-19, Town Creek Elementary School in Winnabow is transitioning its third-grade classes to 100% remote learning for the remainder of the days until the holiday break.

According to the district’s Covid-19 dashboard, there have been nine confirmed cases of Covid-19 this week at the elementary school. Sixty-three people have been asked to quarantine after coming in contact with another positive individual.

Students will learn from home Wednesday and Thursday. The holiday break for students starts Friday, Dec. 18.

“Any additional transitions to remote learning from other grade levels will be announced if we receive notification from the Brunswick County Health Department,” Brunswick County Schools said in a statement.

The school system has reported 115 cases in its schools since Sept. 21. Of those, 82 are recovered.
