Moving vehicle shot at on North College Road Sunday, driver injured

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a moving vehicle on North College Road was shot at multiple times Sunday evening.

According to a news release, the vehicle was hit with gunshots several times just after 6 p.m.

Once the struck car was located, the driver, Edward Wilson, was found with a bullet wound in his leg and forehead. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.


A juvenile was also in the car. Officers witnessed the minor discard a 9mm handgun as well as a “small amount” of marijuana in close-by bushes. The passenger was taken to the juvenile detention center.

A third passenger, Javante McAllister-Sanders, was detained and arrested on outstanding warrants. He was brought to the New Hanover County Detention Center where he received a $250 secure bond.
