Low-contact flu shots offered in Brunswick County through December

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Brunswick County’s outdoor flu clinic announced today it would continue to offer low-contact influenza shots through December. Folks interested in receiving a shot will need to fill out a form for either a regular dose ($45) or high dose ($85; for ages 65 or older) and bring it with them to the site, along with insurance card and ID.

“We’ve recently received more high-dose versions of the vaccines,” health services director Cris Harrelson said in a press release. “We are also taking several proactive steps at the clinic, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, so residents and nurses are well-protected throughout the process.”

Nurses ask every patient a series of questions upon arrival and do a temperature check. All participants must wear a face mask per Covid-19 protocols. Folks experiencing Covid symptoms should not come to the site for a flu shot.

So far, Brunswick County has vaccinated over 1,500 individuals — who never have to leave their cars when lining up at the Brunswick clinic. The clinic is located in the Brunswick County Government Complex — 30 Government Center Drive NE in Bolivia — and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Signs are posted across the government complex for easy location.
