Students and staff evacuated from Codington, due to problem with generator

WILMINGTON, NC—Around 10:20 a.m. students from Codington Elementary School were evacuated. A problem with an onsite generator led New Hanover County Fire Department and school maintenance crew to assess the issue.

Staff and students returned to the classrooms around 10:30 a.m. unharmed. According to the press release, student families were contacted via Blackboard Connect 5’s emergency notification system.
