NHCS reports 600-plus Covid-19 cases

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — New Hanover County Schools reported 687 Covid-19 cases this week, down from 910 the week prior, according to the district’s reporting.

Due to exposure that took place on campus, 108 people were or are still quarantined.

Brunswick County Schools

Brunswick County Schools confirmed 146 active Covid-19 cases, including one in the central services, Friday on its dashboard. More than 200 students and staff were quarantined following exposure to the virus.

BCS provides the following disclaimer: “This data reflects the number of reported COVID-19 cases in the district. Due to a revision in testing requirements from NC DHHS and in the Strong Schools NC Public Health Toolkit, the dashboard may not accurately reflect the number of positive cases or the number of close contacts.”

Pender County Schools confirmed 134 Covid-19 cases the week of Jan. 16-22, according to its latest report. Three of the cases were in the central office, and 643 quarantines were assigned.
