- Is there a food you will not eat?
- I was being hosted at a dinner party in South Korea once and they served me a live squid, complete with moving tentacles, rolling eyes and a protruding beak. In south Korea it is a delicacy and I was honored to be served it, but never again will I eat one!
- What is your favorite movie?
- Out of Africa. I backpacked alone through Africa when I was younger and the scenery and the people are beautiful… the movie did a great job describing the culture and beauty.
- What is the one quality you admire most in others?
- Integrity. I was taught early not to judge a person when they are successful, judge them when they are down and how they handle themselves then.
- What is the next place you would like to visit?
- Venice, Italy
- Where would you take a tourist in town?
- The Battleship. It still amazes me that 5,000 people lived and worked on the battleship during wartime.
- Describe your perfect day off?
- I’m a pilot and a sailor so I will often fly early in the morning and watch the sunrise from 7,000 feet above the earth, have a nice lunch in Charleston, then fly home and hop on my little sailboat and enjoy the sun setting over the water on a broad reach sipping a crisp gin and tonic.
