CAROLINA BEACH — A beach town in New Hanover County will have many ways to celebrate its first 100 years of existence next year.
Carolina Beach reaches its centennial birthday on March 6, 2025. The beach town was introduced in the House on Feb. 21, 1925, and was ratified by the Senate and sent to the Secretary of State the two weeks later on March 6.
The town was incorporated that September, followed by induction of its first mayor and town officers.
According to a release from the town, it’s celebrating 100 years with “waves of the past carried on the tides of tomorrow” — meaning growth and prosperity from yesterday and today carrying forth into the next century.
The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce Centennial Committee has been planning centennial programs and events from spring through fall. The rundown includes:
