WILMINGTON — On April 20, 2024 community members will band together and volunteer across New Hanover County to fulfill projects that local schools, government organizations and nonprofits have submitted as part of Work on Wilmington.

Hosted by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Work on Wilmington takes place over four hours, 8 a.m. to noon, with hundreds of people taking part in the largest single-day volunteer event in the area. Volunteers are welcome to apply to the 2024 event.

There have been 34 projects selected that will result in positive change citywide. Volunteers of all skill levels will help with landscaping, painting, and simple construction. The deadline to participate and receive an event T-shirt is Feb. 23, but the final deadline to apply is April 18.

The application can be accessed here.
