Former UNCW alumni Giovanni Vlahos returned to Wilmington from California after serving as executive director of the Poway Soccer Club (2017-2020). Beforehand, Vlahos worked as head coach of Cal-South’s Olympic Development Program (2013-2018) and assistant coach at San Diego State University (2013-2014).

He also served as a scout for the US Men’s National Soccer Team since 2017. Vlahos will continue to scout for the national team, with the intention to recruit top players back to CFCC.

“I am committed to building a cohesive team that will compete at the highest level and prepare student athletes for successful futures,” Vlahos said in a press release from CFCC.

The men’s soccer team is expected to release the full game schedule for 2023-2024 in July.
