They’ve outscored their two league opponents 54-19 over the past two weeks, using big plays from a plethora of skill players led by Jc Smith. The senior leadership on the North Brunswick football team and big play ability has put them in position to contend for a league title in their final season as a 2A member inside the East Central.

Shaquan Graham has found the end zone in consecutive games including an 89 yard score to put the Scorpions on the board during last week’s 31-7 road win at Southwest Onslow. At the time, SW Onslow went ahead 7-0 before Graham used his speed to break one and tie the game.

North Brunswick used the momentum on special teams to get going on both sides of the ball as the offense used a big push in the second half to grab the win. Quarterback Jathan Deberry helped the Scorpions’ total 240 yards on the ground in the win against Southwest Onslow, while Derrick Blanks finished with two interceptions as the North Brunswick defense forced four turnovers.

Michael Rivers continues to prove a valuable in the kicking game, converting yet another field goal in last week’s result.

Dixon has struggled to put points on the board all season. The Bulldogs have been outscored 76-0 during the past two weeks and should have trouble keeping North Brunswick’s athleticism from taking control of the game.

Topsail (1-2, 3-5) at South Brunswick (0-4, 1-8)

Topsail had a week off following an impressive 21-point comeback against Ashley and the Pirates are poised for another big night in Boiling Spring Lakes against a struggling South Brunswick squad.

Freshman Noah Lavalle has emerged as Topsail’s feature running back, with over 1,000 yards rushing and eight touchdowns this season. Lavalle has rushed for over 100 yards in seven games this season, helping a Topsail offense run for 241 yards per game.

The Pirates ability to keep possession, move the chains and score points whether it be six in the end zone or utilizing the leg of field goal kicker Jorge Lopez, Topsail is looking to make it two in a row come Friday night.
