Ashley 34    South Brunswick 0

The Screaming Eagles snapped a four-game skid in a big way Friday night with a 34-0 victory over South Brunswick in Monkey Junction. Ashley had a two-score lead at the break and tacked on three touchdowns in the second half to improve to 1-3 in conference and 3-4 overall.

Freddie Thames found the end zone for the second straight week on a 1-yard touchdown to get things going in the first quarter, while Jacob Reed hit Sean Ross for a 18-yard scoring reception to put the Screaming Eagles ahead 14-0 just before the break.

Unlike last week, when Ashley let a 21-point lead slip away, the Screaming Eagles kept battling into the second half. Reed finished with two touchdown passes in the game, while Thames found the end zone three times in the effort.

Ashley (1-3, 3-4) travels to Legion Stadium for a date with New Hanover on Friday, Oct. 21.
