Football: Special teams, big plays lift North Brunswick to fourth straight

The North Brunswick defense continued the impressive play it has shown over the last few weeks as the Scorpions rallied from down seven to grab a 31-7 road win against Southwest Onslow.

Jc Smith rushed for over 100 yards and North Brunswick used another strong effort on special teams to remain unbeaten at 2-0 in conference and 6-2 overall.

Kiya Moore had a long kick return for a touchdown to even the score at seven-all, while Jc Smith took an 85 yard run to the house to give the Scorps a 14-7 lead at the half.

Jathan Deberry added a short-yardage touchdown. Michael Rivers connected on his third field goal in as many games and Moore scored his second touchdown of the game during the fourth quarter.

North Brunswick (2-0, 6-2) takes a four game winning streak into a home game against Dixon (0-2, 2-5) on Friday, Oct. 21.
