The Trojans made it five wins in a row on Thursday night following a 46-7 rout over South Brunswick.
West Brunswick continued its strong effort in the run game, while quarterback Owen McDowell threw for over 100 yards for the first time all season. McDowell went 4-of-5 in the air for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior running back Bubba McCray rushed for 118 yards on seven attempts and three touchdowns in the first half. McCray gave the Trojans a 7-0 lead and broke several tackles later in the opening frame for his second score of the night on a 28 yard touchdown with 5:52 remaining in the opening period.
Maliek King added two scores in the win. West Brunswick moves to 3-0 in the division and 7-1 overall.
First-place in the conference will be on the line when the Trojans host New Hanover on Friday, Oct. 14 in Shallotte.
