North Brunswick 24 Ashley 6

Big plays by Jc Smith propelled North Brunswick to a 24-6 win on the road against Ashley.
Smith went 75 yards for the score to break a scoreless game with 1:09 left in the first quarter. The touchdown advantage held until Michael Rivers made it a two-score contest on a 30-yard field late in the opening half to give the Scorpions a 10-0 lead at the break.
Jayhlen Washington found the end zone on a five-yard touchdown late at the 1:34 mark of the third quarter when Ashley found some life as Josh Reed capitalized off a North Brunswick fumble. After the recovery by Alex Brooks, Reed had a 16 yard touchdown run, but the momentum didn’t last long. Smith made his second trip to the end zone with 2:58 left in the game on a 46 yard score to seal the win.
North Brunswick is 4-2 overall. Ashley dropped to 2-3 on the year.
