Brunswick County Parks and Recreation and Communities in Schools (CIS) are teaming up to offer a summer full of fun and educational activities at an affordable cost.
Summer camp activities include field trips to area attractions Jungle Rapids and Wonderworks and on-site activities that include sportacular fun, tennis adventure, art from the heart, popcorn toss, fast-crafts, geo-caching, trivia, and STEM activities, according to a press release from CIS.
“Summer camps provide a great time and place for children to make new friends, stay engaged in learning and just have fun,” Kathy Smith, CIS after-school director, said. “They also help working parents since the hours of this camp have early morning and late day hours. The field trips provide campers with fun filled opportunities for excitement and exploration and also provide peace of mind to parents.”
Registration is now open and being accepted at each of the CIS After School elementary school locations throughout Brunswick County. Students from kindergarten through fifth grade can be registered for $110 per week, or camp for the entire summer can be prepaid. One special week called “Camp Explosion” will celebrate the CIS’ 20th year anniversary. The week of June 29 to July 3 is offered at half price with special activities planned.
