Two former UNCW baseball players will report to Major League Baseball spring training baseball camps.
Chris Hatcher, who is now a pitcher with the Los Angeles Dodgers, will report to Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, while Cody Stanley reports to Jupiter, Florida, the spring training home of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Hatcher was acquired by the Dodgers in an offseason deal with the Miami Marlins. The right-handed reliever appeared in 52 games for the Marlins and posted a 3.38 ERA over the course of 56 innings. He finished with 60 strikeouts and issued just 12 walks.
Stanley finished with a .283 batting average while hitting 16 doubles and 12 home runs while seeing action in 103 games at the double A level with Springfield.
Other Seahawks in spring training camps will be Andrew Cain (OF, SF), Kelly Secrest (LHP, NY Mets), Mat Batts (LHP, Minnesota), Christian MacDonald (LHP, Miami), Justin Livengood (RHP, SD), Seth Frankoff (RHP, Oak) and Tyler DeLoach (LHP, Anaheim).
