The First Tee unveils new fundraising effort

Thanks to the hard work of First Tee of North Carolina founder, Rusty Petrea, the state of North Carolina now offers a special The First Tee license plate. This “The First Tee” plate will benefit chapters across the entire state as the group works to accomplish their mission of impacting, influencing and inspiring young people through the game of golf.

Since this is the first run of the special plate, The First Tee must collect applications and payments for 300 plates before the plates will be issued.

“This is a very simple way to support, or continue to support The First Tee of the Cape Fear Region and our affiliates across the state,” E.B. Bartlett, First Tee of the Cape Fear Region Executive Director, said. “With the number of volunteers, donors, participants, families, and friends who support The First Tee of the Cape Fear Region, our affiliates, and chapters across the state, 300 plates should be no problem.”

Both personalized and non-personalized plates will be available. Personalized plates are $60 and non-personalized plates are $30. There are a few simple steps to ordering your “The First Tee” plate:

  • Mail a check payable to our affiliate, The First Tee of Brunswick County for $30 or $60 per plate, depending on your personalization preference. Checks should be mailed along with the completed N.C. DMV Special Plate Application to The First Tee of Brunswick County ATTN: License Plate P.O. Box 1820 Shallotte, N.C. 28459.

Once the group receives the applications and payments for the first 300 plates, they will be sent to the N.C. DMV and plates will be issued.
