Southern winery to launch new sippers on Armed Forces Day

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — In nearby Duplin County, one of the oldest wineries in the South will release two new flavors to honor military and first-responders.

Armed Forces Red and First Responders White will be released Saturday, May 18, noon to 4 p.m. at all the winery locations; this includes North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Rose Hill, N.C. and Panama City Beach, Fla. it’s coming out on Armed Forces Day.

For every bottle sold, Duplin Winery will donate $1 to Folds of Honor for scholarships of children and spouses of the nation’s fallen and disabled military personnel and service member. Bold and sweet, the wines represent compassion and honor, according to a release.

“By investing in the education of military and first-responder families, we invest in dreams and aspirations, making our collaboration with Folds of Honor an absolute blessing,” Duplin co-owner Dave Fussell Jr. said.

Folds of Honor was founded in 2007 and has doled out 52,000 scholarships.

Cases of either Armed Forces Red or First Responders White will be $14.99 each. Veteran and active-duty service members always enjoy a 15% military discount.
