WILMINGTON — The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College has announced 16-time Grammy award-winning producer David Foster and singer and actress Katharine McPhee are extending their tour to include CFCC’s Wilson Center.
An Intimate Evening with David Foster & Katharine McPhee will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 7 p.m.
An intimate evening with David Foster and Katharine McPhee is just that: an intimate evening with some of the biggest musical forces of our time. The duo will perform songs written or produced during Foster’s four decades of industry hits, including classics from Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Chicago, Josh Groban, Natalie Cole, and more, as well as selections of McPhee’s most notable music.
Foster has earned a reputation as one of the most illustrious composers of our time with 16 Grammy Awards, including three for Producer of the Year, an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and three Oscar nominations for Best Original Song. He has played a key role in the discovery and career launches of Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and Michael Bublé, and also created hit songs for a diverse array of artists, including Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson and Madonna. Now, Foster is gearing up to take on Broadway with several projects, including composing for the new musical “Boop! The Musical,” about the iconic animated character Betty Boop.
McPhee became a household name during a successful stint on Season 5 of “American Idol.” As an actress, she starred in the spy drama “Scorpion,” the musical-drama, “Smash,” and the comedy series “Country Comfort.” McPhee also guest-starred in “CSI: NY, Community,” “Family Guy,” and “Ugly Betty.” In 2018, McPhee made her Broadway debut starring as Jenna in the hit musical “Waitress: The Musical.” She originated the leading role in the West End production before returning to Broadway to perform in the show’s final weeks.
Tickets will be available online to Wilson Center Members on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale online and in person to the general public on Friday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.
