In photos: Boyz II Men light up a dreary night at LOBP

WILMINGTON — Despite the rain, fans flocked to downtown’s Riverfront Park on Friday, May 26, to catch the R&B group Boyz II Men perform.

The Philadelphia group’s three-part harmony was as strong as ever, as they tackled their hits, including an appropriate “Water Runs Dry,” as well as “Motownphilly,” “On Bended Knee,” and “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”

“Considering the rain and wind, they sounded really good,” said photographer Tom Dorgan, who captured shots from the show.

The were backed by a four-piece band and engaged the audience throughout the evening, all of whom sung along. By the third song, they encouraged the crowd to get to know their neighbor by introducing themselves to the people sitting to their right and left.

R&B performer Leela James, who has released seven albums to date, was the opening act.
