Opera House reprises ‘The Piano Men’ at Blockade Runner this weekend

WILMINGTON—Two weekends ago Opera House Theatre Company launched an original musical revue, “The Piano Men,” on the Thalian Hall Portico steps to sold-out success. They’ve decided to reprise the show this weekend at Wrighstville Beach’s Blockade Runner.

Starring Nygel Robinson and Brian Whitted, the revue covers numerous songs, all centered around two baby grand pianos, each played by Robinson and Whitted. Joining them are drummer Mitch Hebert and guitarist Galen Hunsucker, along with guests Michelle Braxton, Barbara Mootoo and Beth Crookham. They’ll all be joined by backup singers Sydney Jones, Devon Jones, Sydney Short, Marley Alliah and Bianca Shaw will round out the numbers.

The show consists of numbers from Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Elton John, John Legend, Barry Manilow and Carole King.

Tickets are $27, and the show runs both Nov. 27 and 28, 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. Seating will be on the lawn between the Blockade Runner resort and the ocean.
