SOUTHPORT — John Christopher “Chris” Blake, 51, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017.

Chris was born March 14, 1966, to Charles E. Blake Sr. and the late Mary Katherine Blake. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as a hospital corpsman. Chris attended Generations Church and had worked at Port Realty. He enjoyed the water and loved sitting at the Southport waterfront.

He was preceded in death by his mother; paternal grandparents, E.C. and Gertrude Blake; and maternal grandparents, John and Audrey Hevener.

Survivors include his father, Charles E. Blake Sr.; brother, Charles E. Blake Jr., and his wife, Sherry; aunts and uncles, Tom Blake and Betty Robbins, William Blake, Benjamin and Beverly Blake, Dr. Marvin Hevener, Ellen Tishman, Johnnie Johnson, and husband, Ron Johnson; and many cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
