UPDATE: Silver Alert canceled Wilmington man believed to be headed downtown

The N.C. Department of Public Safety canceled its Silver Alert for Homer Weston Fennell at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday.

WILMINGTON — The North Carolina Department of Public Safety has issued a Silver Alert for a missing New Hanover County man.

Homer Weston Fennell, 74, is was last seen at 114 Rockwell Road in Wilmington, according to a missing persons report from the department of public safety.

Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Fennel, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, the release states. Detectives suspect he could be in the downtown Wilmington area.

Fennel is a 5-foot 8-inch black male who weighs 146 pounds. He has medium-length grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket and navy blue or black Docker pants.
