WILMINGTON — Ila Mae Nixon, 70, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at her residence. She was born Oct. 29, 1946, in Wadesworth, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Suwade Engler.

She enjoyed walking and playing with her three fury children, Honey, Marie and Molly. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael Nixon; one son, Kenneth and his wife, Barbara Baker, of Wilmington; one daughter, Eydie Epply of Wilmington; two brothers, Butch, and his wife, Donna Mumaw, and Douglas Engler, both of Wadsworth, Ohio; one sister, Maryann, and her husband, Gary Euverard, of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Kristen and Celena; one grandson, Zakery; and one great-granddaughter, Chamberlyn.

A celebration of Ila’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m.
