Timothy Scott Brown, 59, had a passion for vintage cars and trucks

LELAND — Timothy Scott Brown, beloved husband of 38 years of Janice Rogers Brown, of Leland, went home to the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

Tim was born in Fayetteville on July 23, 1957, a son of Scotty Brown of Hope Mills and Ruth Mason Curl of Leland. He worked in the construction industry, most recently with Pro-Seal of Riegelwood, N.C. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Riegelwood.

In addition to his wife, Janice, he is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Benton, and her husband, Cory, of Leland; son, Timothy Allen Brown, and his wife, Ashlee, of Wilmington; grandchildren, Kara Brown and Ava Benton; siblings, Loretta Pierce, and her husband, Alton, Phyllis Brown, Russell Brown, and his wife, Donna Lynn, Donna Critzer, and her husband, Chuck, and Alice Curl.

He was predeceased by his stepfather who raised him, J.B. Curl. He is also survived by many very special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He had a passion for vintage cars and trucks and loved being at home with his family.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Riegelwood. Burial will follow in Weyman Cemetery.
