WILMINGTON – A shooting that injured four men in the Creekwood Community on Sept. 3, is now a murder investigation after one man died in the hospital over the weekend, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley.
Darryle Freeman, 28, of Wilmington, died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center at about 10 a.m. Saturday, Rawley said. Freeman, along with three other Wilmington men ages 20, 21, and 25, were injured in an afternoon shooting in the 600 and 700 block of North 30th Street on Saturday, Sept. 3.
All four men were taken to the hospital. On Thursday, Sept. 8, the police department announced the three men were treated at the hospital and released.
Police have not made any arrests in the case and the investigation is ongoing, Rawley said.
