HAMPSTEAD – Anne Lemrise Jones, 82, of Hampstead, N.C., formerly of Oak Island, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday evening, Aug. 2, 2016.
She was born April 6, 1934, in New Bedford, Mass., a daughter of the late Edward and Jane Ratchford Lemrise. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Odell Jones Sr., and many other loved ones.
Anne and her husband worked for many years with the Jones Family Restaurants in Oak Island and Ogden, N.C.
Anne’s devotion to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members was what brought her the most joy in life. She was a stay-at-home mom, and when her children were grown she worked at the Brunswick County Tax Office and the Board of Elections. She was a gifted reader who always had a book in hand.
Anne is survived by her children, Ed (Brenda), Doug (Debbie), John (Gina), Debbie (John), and Judy (Deena); grandchildren, Megan, Brian, Tommy, Heather, Abby, Travis, Remly and Dylan.; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Gavin, Austin, Lil’ Travis, Alexis, Channing and Zach.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, 5229 Ocean Highway W, Shallotte, N.C. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
