WILMINGTON – The 2017 Wells Fargo Championship is inching closer and tournament officials are offering a way for the public to help veterans see this year’s PGA TOUR event.
Through its Patriots Program, citizens can show support to veterans by providing tickets to retired and active service members and their families through the USO of North Carolina. Click here for details on the Wells Fargo Patriot Supporter Program.
With one month to go before golfers tee off at Eagle Point Golf Club in Porters Neck, an updated listed of player commitments has been released. Recent PGA TOUR winners Adam Hadwin and Mark Leishman are currently scheduled to compete.
Hadwin won the Valspar Championship earlier this year for his first PGA TOUR career victory. The 29-year-old Canadian will be making his first start in the Wells Fargo Championship.
Leishman, a two-time member of the International team on the Presidents Cup representing Australia, will be competing for the fourth time. Leishman won the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard in March.
Major Championship winners Stewart Cink (2009 Open Championship) and Graeme McDowell (2010 U.S. Open) are also on the current commitment list. World No. 33 ranked golfer Francesco Molinari, winner of three European Tour titles and a two-time Ryder Cup competitor representing Italy, is scheduled to make his first start in the tournament in addition to six-time PGA TOUR winner Hunter Mahan.
Other notable names who have already announced commitments include: Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Vijay Singh in addition to Eagle Point Golf Club members Webb Simpson and Carl Pettersson. Head to the tour Wells Fargo Championship website for an updated player commitment list.
