WILMINGTON – With less than 50 days to go before the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship comes to Wilmington, tournament officials this week announced locations for parking, shuttle services and will-call sites for when the event arrives in early May at Eagle Point Golf Club in Porters Neck.
The tournament is May 1-7. Designated shuttle service to and from the tournament’s main entrance on Porters Neck Road is included in the price of a ticket to the PGA Tour event. Tournament authorized shuttles will be the only shuttle service with access past the traffic circle at Porters Neck Road–Edgewater Club Road and the main tournament entrance to the Wells Fargo Championship.
All patrons will be searched for prohibited items prior to loading the shuttles. A prohibited items list can be found on the tournament’s website.
There is no public parking available on Market Street, Porters Neck Road or Futch Creek Road. Porters Neck Road will be closed from Champ Davis Road to Bald Eagle Lane for through traffic during tournament week.
For fans arriving on official tournament shuttles, who may not have tickets, grounds tickets will be sold at will call, located at the tournament entrance. Fans do not need a ticket to ride the tournament shuttles.
General Spectator Parking–Main Lot (Monday, May 1-Sunday, May 7)
The tournament’s main parking for general spectators will be located at the Hampstead, NC “Spot Festival” property, 14121 US-Highway 17. This property is the site of the NC Spot Festival held annually in the fall. Designated tournament shuttles will run from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday of tournament week.
Downtown Shuttle Service—Downtown Wilmington, NC (Monday, May 1-Sunday, May 7)
The Wells Fargo Championship will provide shuttle service from an area designated as the City of Wilmington Transportation Hub. This shuttle site is located on the south side of Harnett Street between North 3rd and North Front streets. The tournament does not control pricing or availability in any parking lots that surround this property or at other parking facilities in the downtown area. Designated tournament shuttles will run from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday of tournament week.
Handicapped Parking—LOWE’s Home Improvement, Porters Neck Road (Monday, May 1-Sunday, May 7)
Parking for those with special needs will be located in a “reserved” area of LOWE’s Home Improvement, 191 Porters Neck Road, during tournament week.
Patrons must apply for access to the handicapped parking lot. Visit www.wellsfargochampionship.com/handicappedparking to complete an application. The tournament will provide properly equipped shuttles designed specifically for the transportation needs of these special needs guests.
Rideshare options (Monday, May 1-Sunday, May 7)
For fans using Uber, Lyft or other rideshare companies including taxi and limo services, these providers MUST proceed to the tournament’s general spectator parking lot in Hampstead or the Transportation Hub downtown for drop-off and pick-up. These are the only locations rideshare users will be able to access the tournament. There is no drop-off location for rideshare users in the Market Street/Porter’s Neck Road area.
Will-call locations (Monday, May 1-Sunday, May 7)
There will be two authorized tournament Will-call locations. The Main will-call will be next to the Belk Department Store, 940 Inspiration Way, in the Mayfaire Town Center. A secondary will-call, accessible only to patrons arriving on official tournament shuttles, will be located at the tournament entrance on Porters Neck Road, at Eagle Point Golf Club.
Both locations will be clearly marked and will be open Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 6 a.m. until 2p.m. Fans can purchase tickets or pick-up tickets at either location. Tickets are not required to board an official tournament shuttle.
