FRISCO, Texas – Wilmington native Jonathan Cooper has agreed to a one-year deal with Dallas Cowboys. Cooper joined Dallas before the NFL playoffs this past season and is expected to add depth to an already potent offensive line.
The four-year veteran has endured a frustrating start to his professional career as injuries and misfortunate have delayed a promising life in football after he was drafted No. 7 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Cooper missed his rookie season for Arizona Cardinals after breaking a leg in the preseason. He started 11 of 24 games over the next two seasons before getting traded to New England last year.
He was eventually picked up by Cleveland for five games in 2016 before being released and signed onto the Cowboys ahead of its NFC Divisional Playoff game against Green Bay.
