WILMINGTON – With the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Basketball Tournament set to tip-off in New York City for the first time on Wednesday, some of the league’s top players will soon visit New Hanover High School’s Brogden Hall for a showcase event.

As one of eight stops this April, the 39th Annual ACC Barnstorming Tour is coming to the Port City on Thursday, April 20. With its visit to Wilmington, basketball fans of all ages will get an opportunity for a rare up-close-and-personal look at some of the top hoopsters from across the ACC.

This year’s roster of ACC All-Stars will be coached by North Carolina legend Phil Ford. Players from North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State and Wake Forest highlight the lineup. Players and their respective schools are listed below, including Wilmington native and former Hoggard High School standout Stilman White.

For the past 38 years, The Sumner Group has sponsored and coordinated the ACC Barnstorming Tour. Over the years, the tour has provided fans a chance to watch players, including Michael Jordan, Len Bias, Dereck Whittenburg, Tyler Hansbrough, Nolan Smith, and Tyler Zeller.

The tour consists of eight games over three weeks following the completion of the NCAA Final Four in April. After a brief stop at Brunswick Community College over the past few years, the ACC Barnstorming Tour is back at Brogden Hall for the first time since UNC’s Tyler Hansbrough was part of the all-star team.
