WILMINGTON — Jeffie Mae Lookabill Nichols, 79, formerly of Lexington, N.C., passed peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove. The family is comforted knowing God called one of his precious children home.
Mrs. Nichols was born June 25, 1937, in Denton, N.C., the daughter of the late Clyde D. and Lurcretia Surratt Lookabill.
She is survived by her son, Robert Nichols Jr. (Susan) of Cave Springs, Ariz.; daughters, Debra Myers (Hugh), Joyce Murray (Larry) and Lisa Caviness (Chuck), all of Wilmington; sisters, Billie Cook and Voncille Comer; grandchildren, Hutch Prince, Candice Myers, Heather Cole (Chris), Cody Myers, Abby Nichols, Dylan Caviness, Kailyn Caviness and Haley Murrill; and great-grandchildren, Caton Clark, Cutler Stewart, Carver Cole and Mallory Cole.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Reggie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 1347 NC-47, Lexington, NC 27292, where Mrs. Nichols was a member.
