WILMINGTON — Elizabeth Frances “Beth” Sanders Edwards, 82, formerly of Brevard, N.C., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017.
Beth was born July 9, 1934, in Montreal, Canada. She was the eldest daughter of the late Oswald and Frances Sanders also of Montreal, Canada. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy L. Edwards, of Birmingham, Ala.
She attended Villa Maria Convent in Montreal and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Towson State University in Maryland. Beth had a passion for gardening, skiing, animals and travel. She was a talented artist and an accomplished Ikebana floral designer.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Holly, who was her constant companion; two sisters, Margaret Kress, and her husband, Raymond, of Wilmington, N.C., and Andrea Lindsay, and her husband, Alex, of Ontario, Canada; three nieces, Leslie Adams, Karen Polly and Stephanie Burney; and numerous family and friends including her dear friend, Bob Glasgow.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington. The Rev. Patrick A. Keane will officiate.
