WILMINGTON — Detectives with the Wilmington Police Department are searching for two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a local tire store Friday evening.

The robbery took place at John’s Tire Service, 3722 Market St., just before 6 p.m., according to police department spokeswoman Linda Rawley.

The owners of the business reported they were closing up for the night when two black male suspects approached with handguns. The suspects took money from the business at gunpoint, ordered the owners to get down on the floor, and then ran away from the scene.

The two suspects are described to be between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. One suspect wore blue jeans, a white hooded sweatshirt and a white basketball hat during the robbery. The other suspect wore a puffy hooded cold weather coat and light colored sweat pants.
