CAROLINA SHORES — Lena Elizabeth Mondichak died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. Born in Praque, Okla., on Aug. 2, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Roy Tull and Mattie Heinzig Tull.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Mondichak Sr.; son, Joseph Mondichak Jr.; daughter; Virginia “Ginny” Slope; and brother, Ray Tull.

A retired U.S. Government secretary, she was a member of Little River United Methodist Church, Calabash Elks Auxiliary and the Calabash VFS Auxiliary.

Surviving are her daughters, Phyllis Banyay of Carolina Shores, N.C., and June Miller of Miami, Fla.; brothers, Fred Tull, of Prague, Okla., and James “Jim” Tull, of Nanford, Okla.; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte.
