Whoopi Goldberg coming to Wilmington in June

WILMINGTON — Grammy-winning comedian, best-selling author and television host Whoopi Goldberg will be in the Port City in June for a show at the Wilson Center of Cape Fear Community College.

Goldberg is set to perform Friday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $48-$150.

“Goldberg is one of an elite group of artists who have won Grammy, Academy, Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony Awards,” a press release from the Wilson Center states.

Goldberg’s films include “The Color Purple,” “Ghost,” “Sister Act,” “The Lion King,” “Star Trek Generations,” and “How Stella Got Her Groove Back.” She is moderator of the ABC morning show “The View” and was seen recently in the feature film, “Big Stone Gap.”

Goldberg’s latest producing project, “According to Alex,” premiered on Centric in October. Her latest book, “If Someone Says ‘You Complete Me’…Run!” is available now, the release states.
