Peter James Lang, 36, loved to surf, hunt and fish

WILMINGTON — Peter James Lang, 36, formerly of Leland, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016.

Born in Greensboro, May 15, 1980, a son of Donald J. Lang Jr. and Susan McFetters Lang of Leland, he had lived in the Wilmington area for the past 16 years.

Peter was employed as a carpenter and painter in the area and loved to surf, hunt and fish. He was a proficient bowler having been one pin away from a perfect game at the age of 12. Peter was a very personable person who never knew a stranger.

In addition to his parents, Don and Sue, he is survived by his brother, Michael Lang of Wilmington; maternal grandmother, Joyce McFetters of Wilmington; and several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Ernest McFetters; paternal grandparents, Donald Lang Sr. and Marion Lang; and his cousin, Kyle Sanders.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
