Donate stuffed stockings to the Brigade Boys & Girls Club for area children in need

WILMINGTON — Help bring Christmas to some of the area’s children in need this year. The Brigade Boys & Girls Club is hosting its 2016 Stocking Drive to help make youth members’ holiday season a little brighter.

Brigade is looking for members of the community to donate stocking stuffers for children between the ages of 5 and 18. The organization hopes to stuff 400 stockings in New Hanover and Pender Counties. Donations can be dropped off at Brigade, located at 2759 Vance St., in Wilmington, through next next Thursday, Dec. 8.

Suggested items include:

  • Books
  • stuffed animals
  • matchbox cars
  • gloves or mittens
  • art supplies
  • hats or scarves
  • card games
  • candy
  • small Lego sets
  • stickers
  • coloring books
  • yo-yo’s
  • nail polish/kits
  • $5 gift cards

Established in 1896, the Brigade Boys & Girls Club works with young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances in New Hanover, Pender and Onslow Counties and helps ensure that the community’s children have greater access to programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.
