BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Boiling Spring Lakes Police have arrested a man in connection with an assault and robbery at a home in the town on Tuesday.
Armel Anthony Dozier, 59, of Westwood Road in Boiling Spring Lakes, was charged with the incident at a home in the 700 block of West Boiling Spring Road, according to Boiling Spring Lakes Police Chief Brad Shirley.
The victim arrived at the home at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, and found the suspect inside the residence, Shirley said. A confrontation took place between the suspect and the victim.
The suspect used a “paint comb” to strike the victim, causing lacerations to the victim’s head and face, Shirley said. He then stole items from the home and left the scene.
Boiling Spring Lakes Police arrived at the scene and the suspect was immediately arrested by officers nearby. The victim’s property was recovered during the arrest.
Dozier was charged with breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. He was placed at the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $100,000 secured bond.
