SOUTHPORT — Mary Sue Sikes Holt, recently of Southport, N.C., joined her devoted husband, William Huey (Bill) Holt, on Nov. 22, 2016. Sue and Bill were longtime residents of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Sue is survived by her two daughters, Brenda F. Holt and Janet L. Holt, both residents of Southport, N.C.. Sue also leaves behind a loving sister, Dorothy S Wood of Princeton, Louisiana, along with Dorothy’s husband, James Wood; and a host of nieces, nephews and their children.

Sue also leaves behind many devoted friends in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Southport, N.C., and Shreveport, Louisiana, foremost among them, Joy Young of Shreveport.

Graveside services will be held on Dec. 10, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Houghton, Louisiana. Services will be officiated by the Reverend Calvin Hubbard.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any remembrances be made in her and Bill’s name to either the www.woundedwarriorproject.org, or to Ziggy’s Haven Bird Sanctuary Inc. (a 501C3 organization), c/o Ziggy’s Haven Bird Sanctuary, P.O. Box 1403, Lecanto, FL 34460.

Sue was a blessing in the lives of many, and those who were able to call her friend or “Momma Sue” were made a better person by having known her.
