WILMINGTON — Christopher “Paul” Allen, 43, of Wilmington, N.C., passed away on Oct. 30, 2016. He was born in Bedford, Ohio, on June 27, 1973 and was the beloved son of Jeffrey and Elizabeth (Tubbs) Allen.

Paul grew up in Greenville, N.C., where he attended St. Peter’s Catholic school and was an active Boy Scout of Troop 826, until he moved to Wilmington in 1988. Paul was a graduate of E.A. Laney High School Class of 1991, where he was a varsity letterman in wrestling and cross country, and later attended Cape Fear Community College.

Paul was a dock master at Creekside Marina where he worked for 22 years alongside many special friends, especially Tommy Vann. Paul loved to surf, was a talented artist, and was very proud of his hole-in-one at Bald Head Island Club Golf course. Paul was an avid fan of UNC basketball, the Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns.

Paul is survived by his parents; daughter Hannah Logan Allen, whom he adored, Hannah’s mother Jennifer, brother David J. Allen, niece Mackenzie Allen, nephews Wesley Allen, Brandon and Tyler Carroll, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, and especially his life long friend, Brent Herstine.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Mary Tubbs, Helen and Roland Allen, and an infant stillborn brother, C. John Allen, and his uncle John Tubbs.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at 9 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, with Rev. John McGee, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
