WILMINGTON — Angela Maria Zavattieri-Caputo, 87, of Wilmington, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Angela was born May 7, 1929, in New York City, daughter of the late Gaudolfo Picciuca and Gandolfa Tuguaggiata Picciuca. Sisters, Rosaria, Antoinette, and Anna, preceded her in death. Angela wanted everyone who knew and loved her to be reminded that at the time of her passing we should all “rejoice” with the knowledge that she is with her “Jesus!”

Angelina loved to write, pray, and especially enjoy the everyday offerings she received from her relationship with the “Lord,” such as sunsets, moon rises, EWTN, TCM, and her humming birds.

She is survived by four children, Paul Zavattieri, Randy Zavattieri, Ron Zavattieri and wife, Stacey, and John Zavattieri; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Steven, Michelle, Elysha, Melissa, Ryan, Paul, Jenna, Lauren, and Claire Zavattieri; two great-grandchildren, Lola and Jackson Popick; and one sister, Josephine Leone.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, N.C., 28412. A Mass of the Resurrection will be 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 6650 Carolina Beach Road. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
