Anita Ladner Russo, 59, passion was helping others

WILMINGTON — Anita Ladner Russo, age 59, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, at home after a long struggle with COPD.

Anita was born March 20, 1957, in Portsmouth, Va., to the late William B. Ladner and Doris Smith Ladner.

Anita thoroughly enjoyed doing crafts, coloring pictures, taking care of the elderly, but, most of all, she adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. S

She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother (Nana), sibling, and aunt and was always there for anyone that needed her help or just someone to talk to. Her passion in life was helping others in any way that she could. She touched the lives of many and she will be missed greatly by all.

Anita is survived by her three children, son, Kenny Boyd with daughter-in-law Kristi Boyd of Carolina Beach,N.C., son Brian Boyd, and daughter Jennifer Boyd, both of Wilmington, N.C; grandchildren Kaden Boyd, Konnor Boyd, and Kayla Boyd; and also her five brothers and sisters, Ronald Ladner (Rhonda) of Laveen, Ariz., Elaine Cashion (Ray) of Asheboro, N..C, and Mike Ladner (Charlene), Teresa Thrush, and Steve Ladner, all of Wilmington N.C. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. at Oleander Memorial Gardens. Flowers may be sent to the Wilmington Funeral Chapel or to Oleander Memorial Gardens.
