SHALLOTTE — West Brunswick jumped out to an early two score lead and the defense recorded a shutout for the second time in as many weeks on Homecoming Night in Shallotte as the Trojans cruised to a 25-0 win against Topsail.

The senior got going early with an eight yard score following a Topsail turnover to give West Brunswick a 7-0 lead. A 55-yard run by McCray put the home team in front 13-0 after the opening quarter, while Owen McDowell hit Russ Gore midway through the second period on a short pass for the touchdown.

McCray scored his third touchdown of the game early in the second half to send the Trojans to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference.

He finished with 14 carries for 153 yards. West Brunswick had 288 total yards of offensive on 39 plays. The Trojans have now won four games in a row heading into a game at South Brunswick on Friday, Oct. 7.
